Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition is a meticulously crafted Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey presented in a 70cl bottle with an ABV of 45.2%. Under the guidance of Master Distiller Chris Morris, this bourbon is uniquely finished in XO Cognac barrels that have each experienced three complete seasons of cognac maturation. The innovative process begins with ageing in virgin oak barrels where the whisky develops its foundational character, before transitioning to the select cognac barrels that impart a refined balance of American oak and subtle French influences.

Finishing Process

Initially matured in virgin oak, the bourbon captures a robust profile that sets the stage for its second phase. In this phase, the spirit is finished in XO Cognac barrels – barrels that have previously nurtured cognac over three seasons. This dual-stage maturation process results in a complex flavour development where the fresh, crisp oak layers blend seamlessly with nuanced citrus and fruit hints.
